Our Tradition

In the Spiral Tree Grove Tradition, we connect with the world around us, feeling the turning of the Wheel and Moon, and recognizing the cyclic nature of life. We celebrate life and the mysteries found within.

The driving force in our tradition and our lives is striving for "balance". Balance between mundane and magical, God and Goddess, light and shadow. This allows us to more easily reach for the magic that leads to spiritual growth and insight; therefore creating a more fulfilled and balanced life.

Our Coven and it's teachings are more directly focused on the religious aspect of Wicca. We look upon Wicca as a way to more easily connect with our Gods. They are beside us everyday. They are the rising and setting Sun, the Moon in all Her faces, the Earth we walk upon and the Air we breathe. We try hard to honor Them with everything we do.

Roots of our Beliefs

Horn and Cauldron strives to create an atmosphere conducive to learning. Because of this, we anticipate all members, regardless of Spirit path, knowledge or experience, will always be learning. This allows for the sharing of ideas and growth that creates a strong Coven.

Rituals & Holiday's

Our ritual focus is to nurture the spirit while facilitating individual experiences with the Divine. In Horn and Cauldron we write all our own liturgy for every individual ritual, therefore, our ritual style is eclectic while still keeping the focus on the Spiral Tree Grove tradition. Besides ritual celebration of the 8 Sabbats, Esbats, life transitions, we also have a few distinct holiday's that we honor as well:

Triple Goddess Day - The first full moon after Yule.
Triple God Day - Midsummer sun-based observance.
Halcyon - Magical 'Rest' period between Samhain & Yule.

Along with the above beliefs, we also feel strongly that all of our members understand that within Horn and Cauldron you should:
Be open to change and growth    within the group and within yourself.
That Coven members should be a productive responsible member of society.
Learn from and about a diverse selection of Gods & Mythologies.     Believe in the 'earth centered' aspect of Wicca.
Coven members should strive to be in harmony with the elements and nature.
In spiritual growth that leads to finding our true existence. This growth is for the good of the Coven, community and self.
That the Craft is first and foremost a religion, and that magic is an 'extra'.      In sharing our public rituals with pagans and others who agree with our same philosophy and principles.    That respect is an important part of belief.
Respect for the Coven, the Spiral Tree tradition, family, friends, Mother Earth, Father Sun and, above all, respect for yourself.
That the Craft is an open-minded path.
The members of this Coven are chosen on the content of their character and dedication to the Gods and Craft.
Children are encouraged to be a part of the 'magical' life. We allow children to attend our Sabbats, provided they are accompanied and supervised by an adult.
